Student Work, Gifts & Endowments
The art in the college’s permanent collection is gifted by Lawrence Hartwig Foundation, dealers, collectors, trusts, and the artists themselves. Each semester closes with a student exhibit, first place prize winners become part of the collection via the purchase prize. The Besse Gallery exhibits regional, national and international artists. Each semester ends with, A Celebration of Student Success, a student exhibition highlighting their work throughout the semester. The Hartwig Gallery in the Bonifas building is a gallery that offers artists and viewers a more intimate space to engage in the sharing and viewing of an exhibition.
Robert Addison
Displaying a fascination with light and shadow, Robert Addison (1924-1988) captivated audiences with his haunting, realistic views of a vanished past by evoking mood with atmosphere to portray his unique perspective. Considered one of the greatest American realist painters of the 20th century, Mr. Addison displayed a technical brilliance that separated him from contemporaries and distinguished him as an artist with remarkable gifts.
